Jen's Roti shop is my favorite spot for chicken roti with tamarind and pepper sauce! It can get a bit busy, but the wait is never too long and worth it. The cozy little space adds to the charm, even if it sometimes feels tight. I always leave with a smile and a full belly!

Extra Big Thank you to Jens Roti Shop on Flatbush Avenue. Had an early morning outing for over 40 ppl and the bake & saltfish along with the bake & shark was a huge hit. Flavorful, packed well and labeled, provided all the toppings you would receive in store. Not to mention generous with Everything including bake fillings. Very prompt with timing and stood by their commitment for customer satisfaction. I thank EVERYONE I communicated with ( Dilly, CeCe & Natasha) along with all that helped the production. Highly recommended for catering or just a pull up for a meal. Definitely 10 out of 10 ‼

Doubles with tamarind sauce are my personal go to & vegetarian. But everything is generally good but Roto, Aloo pie( potatoes pie) & doubles especially. Everything can be specialized in the true trini way. But they run out of sauces fast. Add tamarind sauce ( sweet) , spice or pepper sauce(hot), Kuchela or Amchar(pickled mango chutney: sweet & sour), sea moss( it's a green sauce that has a distinct flavor) or cucumber sauce ( tasty cooling sauce) to anything.

Chicken double with everything was superb! So delicious. All the right flavors combined into a fried bread of sorts. I was there Saturday, and I had to write a review because I could not stop thinking about it. My friend had a veggie double and chicken roti, and they devoured their food. So if you are in the area, don't miss your opportunity to try this deliousness. I only took a picture of our drinks. SMH. I was too busy chowin' down.

GO-TO SPOT FOR TRINIDADIAN FOOD IN FLATBUSH Yes, good West Indian food can be found in any of boroughs. No, not all West Indian food is the same; each country prepares their signature dishes differently even if it's with slight variation. Absolutely stop in here when craving Trinidadian food while on Flatbush Avenue! Come to this one even if the line is longer than the place across the street. You will thank me for this recommendation later. No matter what you were craving that brought you here (ie curry goat roti, bake & saltfish, etc) get some DOUBLES. A double is a deliciously sloppy mini sandwich of sorts and they made wonderfully here. Between the two pillowy soft baras--flat fried breads--is a flavorful spoonful of channa (curried chickpeas). Feeling extra snackish, you can add any meat to your doubles. And don't forget the sauce: in this case, it's tamarind sauce and pepper for me even though there are more options. I'm drooling while I'm writing this...

Jen's Roti has quickly become one of my favorite places in the neighborhood and a go-to option for a breakfast bite (the doubles are amazing!). Authentic Cuisine - The flavor, tradition, culture and love is all present in the food. Everything is delicious and everything is plentiful. Wide Variety - The menu options are extensive as mentioned above! Bakes and saltfish for breakfast, roti and doubles for lunch, curry goat and oxtail for dinner. They've got it all. Key thing to note about Caribbean dining is there's always a likelihood they won't have any more left. It's just a fact of life. lol. Just be ready with an option 2 in mind. Good Value - The cost and portion size measure up to be a great value especially when you take into account how delicious it is. Pro tip: fried bakes run out quickly in the morning so yeah, get there early. The baked bakes are solid too but are more like a semi-dense bread/bun making the sandwich more substantial.
